VOLUNTEER WITH US
Help Bridgeport students grow as readers, teammates, and leaders. We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds who enjoy working with children in grades 3–5, can show up at least once a week during after-school hours, and are comfortable following youth program guidelines. Volunteers must be 16 or older (parent permission required under 18). Academic and squash volunteers commit 1–2 days a week for a semester or more, while event volunteers help as needed. All volunteers complete an application, reference check, background check, and attend an orientation before starting. Thank you for your support!
Most volunteers support SquashBridge Scholars during after-school hours from 2:00 to 6:15pm, Monday through Friday. We’ll help you find a role that matches your skills, schedule, and comfort level. Complete our Volunteer Application and we’ll be in touch with next steps.

WAYS TO VOLUNTEER

ACADEMIC SUPPORT
Support students in the classroom as they complete homework, practice reading, and build study skills. You’ll help create a calm, focused space where students feel supported and proud of what they can do.

SQUASH AND FITNESS SUPPORT
Help staff run fun, structured squash practices and movement games. Your job is to encourage effort, model good sportsmanship, and keep things safe. Knowledge of and experience playing squash is required.

EVENTS
Support special events such as fundraising events, family nights, and field trips. This is a great option if you can’t commit weekly, but want to help out when you can.
